Luck of The Irish At The Odyssey

Some of Ireland’s top athletes will be looking to give the European Indoor selectors a headache ahead of the Irish Indoor Championships at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast.

Stars such as Ailis McSweeney, Anna Boyle, Niamh Whelan and Kelly Proper will be in the 60m along side 400m World & Olympic Champion Christine Ohuruogu in what will no doubt be an exciting race.

Leevale’s very own McSweeney just missed out on qualifying for the Europeans indoors in Turin last weekend in a time of 7.48 seconds in Leipzig.

However,  she was second at the Odyssey last year and has every chance of causing and upset against Ohuruogu who has a personal best of 7.39.
