Another season, another trend. And if the heavy leather and studding of outfits last season weighed you down you can breathe a sigh of relief. For this season we’ve gone from leather and studs to pink and lace. That’s right this season’s latest trend is ‘pretty chic’.

Before those of you pink averse groan let me lighten the load, just because there’s pink and lace pieces it doesn’t mean fashion has gone completely marshmallow on you, with select studding and detailing on some pieces such as skulls you can still keep the tough look of seasons past, this season it’s just a softer, prettier version of it. Another possibility is black or grey pieces that are available, such as the black lace dress from New Look, or strips to mix it up.

Tips for this trend are easy; your colour palette consists of creams and a variety of pinks such as dusky pink and rose pink. There’s a lot of lace, tulle detailing, silks and satins forming up the pieces in shops this season. This is a decent alternative to the usual sickly pastels of spring/summer trends and lightens up the still-dreary days ticking over from this winter’s weather. So throw off those spiked heels, grease yourself out of all that leather and slip into a pretty pink lace top and ballet pumps and enjoy the let up from harsh fashion in favour of pretty, girly fashion.
