Rihanna Eyeing Up Glastonbury Appearance
December 10, 2009 by Ryan Gibbins
Rihanna yesterday announced that she would “love” to play at Glastonbury next year, following the success of Jay Z two years ago.
Speaking at a press conference promoting her UK tour next spring, the singer hinted at maybe appearing at some festivals along the way. She will also be back in the country in the summer which lead to the question wether it would be for her own gigs of festivals.
“Maybe both, definately more gigs. Were not sure on the festivals yet, they may clash with the tour dates. But i’d love to do festivals,” she said.
Jay Z was an hugesuccess when he appeared at the Somerset based festival in 2008 against all critics, namely Noel Gallagher. Rihanna now is looking at following in her mentors footsteps.
“Even if im not headlining, i’d love to be there. Its a great festival and a great platform for me to be on,” said Rihanna
These rumours have not been confirmed by the festival itsef though. The only major act to be confirmed so far is U2 who will be playing on the friday night.
