Blog: Nick Griffin on BBC Question Time
October 22, 2009 by Benjamin O Connell
On his blog, All Mouth and Trousers, Sunderland student Benjamin O Connell has outlined why he thinks it is right that Nick Griffin of the British National Party should be allowed on BBC’s Question Time tonight.
‘The latest controversy to strike the media is tonight’s appearance by Nick Griffin on BBC’s Question Time. The BBC argue that freedom of speech and their commitment to fair broadcasting dictates that Mr. Griffin should be allowed on the show as the party he represents is a legitimate one.
‘Opponents argue that his freedom of speech is not the issue but whether Question Time is the correct forum. His right to produce literature and hold rallies and meetings is not the same as appearing on a national channel paid for by license payers at 10.35 in the evening.’ Click here to read the full blogpost.
