Well I was hoping for a reply to my comment, living in the same area i was also hoping to see her canvassing and maybe addressing local issues, unfortunately Mss Elliot seems not to want to comment. I have voted Labout all my life having worked in the shipyards when they were open and still working in them overseas. Its a pity but Mss Elliot does not appear to want to address local peoples issues.................long gone are the days of the Fred Willeys in our city. I doubt I will give my vote to Mss Elliot but will look to candidates who wish to achieve something for the city and work for there votes and voters.

I read Mss Elliotts comments in the Sunderland Echo with unease.

I quote

"Ms Elliott, Labour's candidate for Sunderland Central, said the Wear did not have the necessary deep water quays and other facilities needed for the off-shore wind farm industry.

But she said there were suitable sites at the Tyne, and skilled workers from across the North East – including Sunderland – would be needed to work there. She said there could also be "spin-off" roles for Sunderland."

Does she not know of the South dock area formerly Press Pau yard with load out quay or of Pallion shipyard where the turbines could be assembled and then erected and shipped from the former PAU yard.

Is this woman is fighting for the people of Sunderland or Tyneside, coming from South Tyneside,
I think the latter ?

I hope she visits my home while canvassing then i can tell her how it can be done if the will to do it is there in the first place.

Out of all the candidates and the competition was of the higher level, Julie is Sunderland Central's best chance to win this seat for Labour. She has seen first hand what a Tory Government has done to working people.

You will hear the local Tories spinning their kind words and promises, but these will soon be forgotten by the controlling Tories in their rich southern heartlands if ever returned to government and any Tory MP here will have to toe that party line. Sunderland and the North East will once again become the forgotten corner of England.

Good luck to Julie Elliott, Sharon Hodgson and Bridget Phillipson, as our MPs, Sunderland will keep fighting for its future.
