JLS to perform at Campus
February 25, 2009 by Victoria Newman
Sunderland University students are becoming starry-eyed with the excitement of coming up close and personal with X Factor finalists JLS.
The vocal harmony four piece rose to fame on the latest series of X factor, finishing in a close second to series winner Alexandra Burke.
The boys, Aston, Marvin, JB and Ortise are set to play three venues tomorrow night. The first two are in Newcastle, including the official X Factor tour, then they’ll be bringing their night to an end at our very own student hang out.
Campus General Manager Angus Duncan said: “JLS played at Campus in Glasgow shortly after the X Factor finished and there was that many people that we had to organise a double gig.
“We put on a family show starting at 3:00pm but when I got there at 9:00am there was already 20 people queueing up outside.
“I don’t know if this time around will be as popular, because the Glasgow show was about two weeks after the X Factor final so there was a hot buzz about it. But hopefully it’ll be just as popular this time around.”
The band are due to appear on stage at around midnight tomorrow night. The doors to Campus will open at 9:00pm and people are advised to arrive early to avoid disappointment.
Campus, on the St Peter’s site of Sunderland University offers discounted entry for students and lots of great drinks promotions.
On student said: “I’m so excited about seeing JLS at Campus tomorrow night. I followed them all the way through X Factor and was gutted when they didn’t win, but I’m glad they’re making a name for themselves anyway because they’re really talented.”
